Tree Preservation Orders
A Tree Preservation Order is intended to secure the contribution trees make to public amenity. For that reason, we think that Tree Preservation Orders should be made on the right trees, and that they should be in the public interest. We can help make the Tree Preservation Orders and we can help resist inappropriate TPOs. We can also help negotiate applications to undertake tree works to trees that are already protected.
Searches and Applications
Where a tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order, an application must be submitted to the local Council to carry out any tree works. Tree pruning may be required to manage the tree’s condition, promote growth, or to ensue sustainable relationships are promoted with nearby buildings or public spaces.
TPO Objections
Not all trees that receive a TPO warrant one, and it's making that distinction that makes a TPO effective. Aspect Arboriculture will review provisional TPOs and can provide objections to ensure that new Orders are effective and proportionate to tree value, or perceived risk.
TPO Making
Protecting trees from unnecessary removal or damage is vital for preserving our natural environment. We can assist local Councils in the making of new TPOs to safeguard important trees. We will work closely with local officers to ensure that new TPOs are made clear and defensible.
