A Tree Preservation Order is intended to secure the contribution trees make to public enjoyment of the space.
For that reason, we think that Tree Preservation Orders should be made on the right trees, and that they should be in the public interest.
We can help you make the order; we can help you resist an order. Or we can help you to negotiate an application for works to a tree that is already protected.

Searches and Applications
Where a tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order, an application must be submitted to the local planning authority to carry out any tree works. Tree pruning may be required to maintain the tree’s condition, remove deadwood and promote growth. Tree works may include crown lifting, reduction or thinning. It can even get more imaginative i.e. through bracing and/or propping.
At the end of the day, the objective has to be proportionate to securing the public benefit that the TPO is there to preserve!

TPO Objections
We can facilitate in constructing applications for Tree Preservation Orders and for undertaking works on TPO trees.
Not all trees that receive a TPO warrant one, and it's making that distinction that makes a TPO effective.
